Waiting for final approval on the Home Study.

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me".

These last few weeks, really months, I have needed this verse to be plastered on ever surface I see. In the 12 years Rob and I have been married there has never been such a time of 'trials' as this. Some days I am completely overwhelmed and wonder what God is up to, day's like today, with this verse in the forefront of my mind and the beautiful snow that covers everything here in Texas, I am glad to boast of my weakness.

It is testimony to His strength because we could not make it through this time without it.

On the other side of all these trials I KNOW that we will rejoice and God will get the glory.

So we wait, and wait...and soon our Home Study will be signed and final and we will be off to immigration (about a 60 day process) and then our Dossier will be sent to China!

In the meantime we hold fast to His promises.

Love you all,
Tabby, etc!

Gaining Virtue

Waiting waiting waiting...to hear from our social worker. What a tough time it is to get all your paperwork ready and then just wait on someone else. I feel so 'out of control' because i can't DO anything to hurry the process.

It's been a bit of a whirlwind since November and i apologize for not updating but between moving, coming down from fundraising and paperwork and MOVING, selling, and new schools and then the holidays. Whew!

I know this time will pass quickly and that God will provide and but it is so hard to just sit...guess that is a perfect time to work on Spaghetti dinner fundraiser and another garage sale. Let us know if you have anything to contribute to either. Goods or services.

I will update as SOON as we hear a peep!

Feelin Like a Criminal!

Someone needs to make a rap song about how hard it is to adopt! Geez! Big Brother is in all our business...not that we have anything to hide, but we have to get fingerprinted, an FBI background check, all our finances...I spent 4 hours today making a list of the last 11 places I lived, and dates! We had a full medical eval for all 5 of us...LOL...the only thing they don't have is a Pysch eval. Go figure!

Anyway, we are closing in on the date and buried in paperwork but God has blessed us SO much! We have raised $1200.00 more and have about $600.00 left! We will mail all our paperwork by the 13th so if you have it on your heart to help we would be so blessed by it!

Be sure to check out the website http://www.worthyoftheprize.com/ and order an adoption band. If you select us 1/2 the proceeds come to the adoption fund.

14 days and counting.

No Bunko but God is still so faithful!

Walking by faith can be such a challenge, but where we fail in our humanness and 'works-based' actions and mindsets, HE never does. God is always faithful!

Last week we had to cancel the Bunko fundraiser our friends were having because we just didn't have enough people able to join us. I will admit this made me fret a bit as we are still far from $5000.00 by November 17th.

Then He steps in and I get an email from a missionary family we support in Dubai. They wanted to love on and support us and invest in our newest family member. I can not tell you how humbling it was, how amazing His favor and how loved we feel to have this family, a family that lives entirely off other's supporting their ministry, invest in our babies future.

This same week we received additional support from a family member as well. We are blessed!

I cannot - but He can!

So, that brings us to $1470.00 raised. Thank you all for your prayers and support...we will keep praying for the rest to come by the 17th.

A girl can hope can't she?

The Paper Chase

I'm not sure how most other families move from 'thinking' about adoption to 'adopting'. For us it has been (or felt) like a whirlwind. It is an amazingly long process...I already have a 5 pocket spiral as well as a FULL 3 inch binder! Some days just the paperwork is very overwhelming, and some days, all I can think about is every hour that goes by where I am not 'working' in some way keeps him from being home.

That's why things like blue yarn make me cry.

As I look around and see all that needs to be done to the house before we can pass our homestudy and work to raise the money to even have the social worker here and think about 'when' our house will sale - well, it's hard not to feel tiny.

But tiny is good when next to, say, a mountain. Isiah 2:3 "And many people will go and say, Come, let us go to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob. And He will teach of of His ways and we will walk in His paths."

Makes me think of Veggie Tales, where the peas are singing "keep walking, cause you won't knock down that wall, keep walking, cause it isn't going to fall". Well, silly peas...we will keep walking and I just like Joshua we WILL see Gods glory!

Our Father's House

Well we finally made it! We closed last Tuesday on our new home and have been working non-stop to get it in a condition we can live it. We managed to get the entire upstairs painted, cleaned and carpeted as well as air conditioning in 3 days! It was tough but we had some great friends who helped.

Next was moving and because the kids were dying to get into their new schools, we moved in one Sunday (actually half a day). Despite having no air downstairs, no fridge and no floor. It's and adventure and we are just so blessed to be here.

Not to say it has not been difficult. We have encountered plenty of snafu's. The spa leaked all it;s water, missed the bus the first day of school and had a flat tire on the car, leaky pipes in the new house and more leaky pipes, sick doggie (she is better now) and a few more just to make it all fun. BUT, we trust the Lord in all of this and we trust where He has and will continue to give Him glory even in the trials.

What's next? Well now that we have a house, we will focus on raising the remainder of the funds to submit for our homestudy. Because we have not sold out old house we have to raise this money as there is no option for a loan. So, we are having a garage/moving/renovation sale Oct. 9th and 10th if need be.

If you have anything to give away, or need anything contact me. If you would like to buy some coffee to help raise funds click at the top and if you just feel like donating click the chip-in button.

Hopefully soon we can have some shirts and hats for sale. Please continue to pray for God's favor and for protection for our son that we have not met yet.
